Solid Waste Disposal
Our Transfer Station accepts all types of waste with the exception of HAZARDOUS WASTE, due to safety and regulatory concerns. For your convenience, a detailed list of household hazardous waste items, along with important rules and a comprehensive schedule of upcoming collection event dates and times, is readily available to help you manage your waste responsibly. Additionally, residents are permitted to attend hazardous waste collection events held in neighboring counties, providing more options for proper disposal.
In April 2024, a significant fire caused heavy damage to our Transfer Station, which has resulted in necessary changes to our usual operations. While we are actively working towards the development and opening of a new Transfer Station, which is slated to be operational within the next year, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this transition. We recognize and sincerely empathize with how these changes may affect many of our local residents and commercial customers.
Currently, the Resource Authority has implemented several restrictions that will remain in effect until further notice. These restrictions are as follows: Residential Waste Disposal is limited to Fridays and Saturdays only, while Commercial Waste Disposal is allowed Monday through Friday. Furthermore, commercial customers are currently NOT permitted to dispose of Construction and Debris materials at the station. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to restore full service as quickly as possible.
