Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste is a broad category of debris generated from the construction, repair, remodeling, and demolition of buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. It includes a wide range of materials such as concrete, asphalt, wood, drywall, metals, brick, and insulation, but generally excludes hazardous materials, liquid waste, and certain other industrial wastes. This type of waste is distinct from municipal solid waste (MSW) and is a major focus for recycling and diversion efforts due to its significant environmental impact and the potential to recover valuable resources.
